The City of Suwanee is seeking public art for our new City Hall building.
Information
The City of Suwanee Public Arts Commission, on behalf of the City of Suwanee, is seeking
qualifications from professional artists and/or artist teams for the design, execution and
installation of original artwork at up to three locations in, or on the grounds of, Suwanee’s new

Requirements
Open to professional artists (or teams of related disciplines) residing in the United States.
Preference will be given to artists or teams who have demonstrated experience in creating,
executing and installing works of comparable importance and scale to the works requested.
Preference may be given to Georgia artists.
Deadline: November 19, 2008
You are asked to indicate which of the following project or projects you wish to qualify for:
A pair of kinetic sculptures (approximately 20-22 feet high) to be suspended from
exposed rafters on the barrel-vaulted ceiling in the building’s two-story lobby.
A static or kinetic sculpture (approximately 10-12 feet high) for placement on a large
grassed area outside the building’s main entrance; should proposed design of artwork
lend itself to two areas, the grassed area on both sides of the entrance area may be used.
A pair of pieces in any medium (approximately 8 feet high by 4 feet wide) installed on
facing walls flanking the left and right side of the second floor lobby.
Submit one printed copy of all items outlined below on standard 8.5”x11” white paper. Please
do not staple any materials together. Each page of your application should clearly indicate your
name, date and project submitting for.
Additionally, provide on one CD items #1-5 below in PDF format and item #6 below in JPEG
format (high resolution of 300 dpi minimum).
Present your materials in the following order:
1. Application Form (see attached pg. 5). If you are applying for more than one (of three)
projects, a separate application form, package, and information must be provided.
2. Letter of Interest (not to exceed 1 page) explaining the artist’s or team’s interest in this
project.
3. Professional resume (not to exceed 2 pages); if submitting as a team, each team member
must provide a resume.
4. Three professional references (commissioning agency or organization, design or arts
professional, architect etc.) with working knowledge of your work and methods (not to
exceed 1 page); include the following: client name, name of project, date of project
completion, mailing address, phone numbers, and e-mail address for each individual. If
an organization is serving as a professional reference, please identify an individual
contact by name.
5. Optional relevant information, such as articles, regarding experience and qualifications
may be submitted (not to exceed 5 pages).
6. Images of relevant work (not to exceed 10 pages, one image per page for an individual
artist or 20 pages for a team). Include project name, title of work (description), name of
artist, year completed, medium, location, approximate dimensions, and cost (a separate
page(s) with this information may be given provided a key/identifier is given; this
key/identifier should not exceed 5 pages and is not included in the 10/20 pages of
images).
