LOOK3 Festival of the Photograph

Monday, March 23rd, 2009

Opportunity

Attend the LOOK3 Festival of Photograph in Charlottesville, VA.

Information

The third annual LOOK3 Festival of the Photograph is set for June 11, 12, and 13 in beautiful Charlottesville, Virginia! Three days of peace, love, and photography will transform historic downtown Charlottesville into a “living image” and celebrate the careers of three legendary photographers: Martin Parr, Gilles Peress, and Sylvia Plachy.

These three renowned photographers will each create a solo gallery exhibit and appear on-stage individually at the historic Paramount Theater to discuss their lifetime of work and show images from their careers.

Returning in 2009 are the LOOK3 Workshops and Project Critique Sessions. Photographers of all skill levels will find invaluable instruction and experience by enrolling in classes taught by master photographers David Alan Harvey, James Nachtwey, Nina Berman, Eugene Richards, and Larry Fink. Maggie Steber and Scott Thode will lead the Project Critique Sessions to help students edit and develop working photography projects.

The Festival is also excited to announce that the “Masters Talks” will include presentations by sports photographer Simon Bruty and portrait photographer Platon, among others. Paolo Pellegrin will mount a special outdoor show created just for LOOK3, and nature photographer Tom Mangelsen will exhibit in the TREES.

With 3 days filled with exhibitions, outdoor projections, film screenings, on-stage interviews, and special events, LOOK3 creates the perfect setting to share ideas and be inspired. Attendees will be surrounded by photography - in the trees, projected in storefront windows and on buildings, and in all the galleries.

Extras Needed for Short Film

Tuesday, March 17th, 2009

Opportunity

Urgent call for extras for a short visual effects film being done by myself, Chris Chamberlain, Corey Thomas, Nick Raimondi, and Chris Fitzgerald.

Information

We are all seniors in the Kinetic Imaging program. Our film will depict a gigantic creature landing in the Diamond baseball stadium, crawling out and terrorizing the city. What we need is for you guys to help us out on the Diamond sequence. We will be filming this Saturday, the 21st, and possibly on Sunday, the 22nd, at noon at the Diamond. The shoot will last no more than three hours.

The shoot itself will involve everyone in groups escaping the Diamond from all of the exits, as well as running across the concourses and out to the parking lot. We will film everyone over and over again fleeing in different groups and with different clothes on. These shots will then be composited together to look like hundreds of people running out of the Diamond. We will provide pizzas and drinks for everyone who shows.Again, that will all begin at 12:00 noon on Saturday the 21st.

Requirements

All extras will need to bring 3 or 4 changes of clothes (don’t worry, we will have restrooms open to change in).
