Cash Awards of Excellence and Special Recognitions will be given at the juror’s discretion; the amounts and number of which is determined by the entries and their quality. Specially recognized artists will be reviewed in the juror’s statement published worldwide and sent in a press release to the artist’s local newspaper(s).

The Center for Fine Art Photography is looking for artists to submit photographs under the theme of a visual representation that portrays the likeness of a person, animal, place or thing.

Information

The exhibition is open to photographers world wide, both amateur and professional.  The Center for Fine Art Photography invites photographers working in all mediums, styles and schools of thought to participate in its exhibitions. Experimental and mixed techniques are welcome.

With selection for this exhibition, artists and their work will be seen by an international audience of collectors, curators, art consultants and others who appreciate the fine art of photography.

Studio Visit Magazine is now accepting submissions for their Spring 2010 edition.

Information

Studio Visit is a juried artist catalog that offers artists a new and effective venue through which to introduce their work to a serious national audience of art world professionals. The results of the competition will be published in the spring of 2010.

Studio Visit will be mailed to 1,500 of the nation’s top galleries and curators and a growing subscriber base of over 500 collectors and art enthusiasts. Additionally, participating artists will receive a complimentary issue of the publication, and they will be able to purchase additional copies at a discount.

Opportunity

The Chapel Hill Public Arts Office invites artists to apply for the 2009/2010 Sculpture Visions Exhibition. Original three-dimensional artwork by selected artists will be displayed in outdoor public spaces in Chapel Hill from October 2009 to October 2010.

Information

Experienced artists and artist teams are invited to apply for this juried outdoor sculpture exhibition that will be on view from October 2009 to October 2010 in public spaces in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. This invitation is extended to all artists regardless of their state of residence and there is no entry fee. In addition to finished pieces, proposed work will also be considered.

Works submitted must be of a scale and material suitable for public outdoor display. Additionally, the works must be constructed so that they can be securely anchored. Participating artists will receive a honorarium of $1,500 per selected artwork. The honorarium will be paid in two installments: $750 after the work is installed during the first half of October 2009 and $750 after the work has been removed from the site by October 2010.

The Town of Chapel Hill will insure each work for the duration of the exhibition at a value determined by an independent art appraiser. An identification plaque will be provided for each work. The Public Arts Office will also produce Sculpture Visions publicity materials and will promote the exhibition. Sale of exhibited artwork will be encouraged and a 15% commission on works sold is required. It is understood that artwork will remain on display for the entire exhibit. Exhibiting artists or their representative(s) must be present for installation and de-installation.

-Images of up to Three (3) Proposed Artworks

A maximum of three artworks may be submitted for consideration. Each artwork may be represented by up to three digital images showing different views of the finished piece or a model or drawings of the concept. A total of nine images may be submitted. Each image must be a PC-compatible JPEG file at 72 pixels per inch, as close to but no larger than either of the following dimensions: 750 pixels wide by 560 pixels tall. Each JPEG file must be named in the following format – “lastname_title_view#.jpg” – where the artist’s last name is followed by underscore, title of artwork, underscore, view number (1, 2 or 3), file extension. Please do not present your work as a montage of images (ie., in a PowerPoint file); each image must be a separate JPEG.

-Annotated Image List

A word file (.doc or .docx) identifying JPEG images with the title of artwork depicted; the media and  dimensions of the artwork; the artwork’s sale price or proposed insurance value if the work is not for sale; and the artwork’s installation method and requirements. Please label each dimension and round to the nearest foot (e.g., 8’ tall by 4’ wide by 3’ deep). For installation information, please identify installation procedure and anchoring mechanism(s). If a concrete pad is required, please provide minimum dimensions. If manual labor other than the artist’s is required, please list number of helpers needed. Please note if a backhoe or other special equipment is needed.

-Resume

The Masters’ Mystery Art Show (MMAS) is an international annual art event featuring over 1000 artworks by more than 500 artists from 31 countries around the globe. The MMAS was developed to benefit Florida International University’s Master of Fine Arts in Visual Arts Program. This fundraising event has grown to provide supplementary funding for our MFA program, grants for alumni, as well as an opportunity for international exposure for FIU and its Art Programs. This important event, which coincides with Art Basel, takes place at the Ritz-Carlton, Miami Beach.

Create a :20 film or video short that is inspired by light in support of a public service announcement campaign for 1708 Gallery’s InLight Richmond, the second annual outdoor light-inspired contemporary art exhibition and celebration.

Organized by 1708 Gallery, InLight Richmond is an exploration and celebration of contemporary art including an exhibition of light-inspired art installations by international artists, the Wearable Art fashion show, performing arts, and a community lantern parade.
