The Education Abroad Office will hold general information sessions throughout the semester for students interested in studying abroad.
The sessions are held every Monday and Thursday at 12:30 p.m. in the Franklin Street Gym, 817 W. Franklin St., Room 122.

Submit proposals for exhibition opportunities at the University of North Florida Gallery.
The University of North Florida Gallery of Art is an educational institution that was founded in 1972. The UNF Gallery functions primarily as an educational resource by hosting exhibitions of artwork by professional visual artists, the Department of Art and Art History students and faculty, as well as programs deemed to be of interest to the public.

There is no fee and no form to complete. Proposals should include the following information; incomplete proposals will not be considered.
- Cover letter that includes any pertinent information for considering the exhibition such as budget and scheduling information.
- Up to 20 digital images in jpeg format, numbered with artists last name in the title. or Power Point will also be considered. Slides will not be considered.
- Image list with artist’s name, artwork title, medium, date.
- Artist statement (one page maximum)
- Curriculum Vita
- SASE (self-addressed stamped return envelope) if return of materials is desired.

Apply for study abroad grants offered by Phi Kappa Phi.
The Phi Kappa Phi Study Abroad grants are designed to help support undergraduates as they seek knowledge and experience in their academic fields by studying abroad. Forty-five $1,000 grants are awarded each year. VCU has an active Phi Kappa Phi chapter, so you could be eligible to apply.

The CIA is interested in meeting with VCU Graphic Design students to discuss employment opportunities.
Juniors and Seniors welcome.
Must attend information session to be eligible for interview selection. The information session will be held Friday, November 20th from 10:30am - 11:30am in the University Student Commons, Forum Room.
On-campus interviews will happen the same day as the information session and will take place from 1pm - 4:15pm in 30 minute time slots. The interviews will be conducted in the University Career Center in the University Student Commons, Room 143.

Fotoweek DC 2009 Festival is filled with powerful international exhibitions, thought provoking lectures, and, of course, the chance to have your own portfolio critiqued by experts. Design a logo for The Green Dress.
The Green Dress is a new store and is looking for logo submissions. Will need a logo business package; letterhead, envelopes, stickers, and a traditional logo. The store will be a pre-owned couture bridal gown shop. The theme is environmentally based. This shop is going to focus on providing alternatives to the typical wedding gown purchase. Wedding gowns are most often worn just once, made using materials that are not environmentally sound, and can be very expensive. This store will provide an alternative to tradition by providing dresses that can be reused, reducing the need for more unsound materials to be produced all while reducing the price of gorgeous couture wedding gowns. A one hundred fifty dollar ($150) prize will be given to the person who submitted the chosen design.

The Indie Fest is an independent, top-tier international film awards competition. Our goal is to help independent filmmakers gain publicity and, when appropriate, exposure to distributors.

Prospective Art Education graduate students are invited to attend an informational meeting on November 7, 2009 from 1-2pm hosted by the VCU Department of Art Education.
If you will soon be graduating with a BFA and have an interest in pursuing a teaching career, the art education department has a program that may suit your needs.
The meeting will be held in room 301 in Franklin Terrace located at 812 W. Franklin St., Richmond, VA 23284. At this time, applicants will learn about the degree program, application procedure, timeline, courses, etc. Students will also have the opportunity to visit the department’s facilities, to meet some of the faculty members, and to learn about their research interests.
