Opportunity: Fellowship
Information: The Kennedy Center offers valuable skills building for arts managers through the Fellowship program. The program provides up to 10 highly motivated, disciplined, and creative artists and arts managers the instruction and experience they need to succeed in today's complex arts environment. Fellows enjoy close working relationships with experienced arts professionals, hands-on work opportunities, a structured blend of independent and collective learning experiences, and the opportunity to work in one of the busiest and most artistically diverse performing arts centers in the United States. Fellows are expected to attend performances and educational events, as well as complete significant projects within the context of the Kennedy Center. Fellowships are full-time and last 10 months starting in September. Fellows receive an annual stipend of $20,000 to help defray housing and transportation costs. Course tuition, materials, and health insurance are provided at no cost to the fellow.

Opportunity: Internship
Information: Internships offer meaningful learning opportunities and on-the-job experiences to college juniors/seniors, graduate students, and recent college graduates (within two years of graduation) who are interested in beginning careers in performing arts management and/or arts education. Approximately 20 students are selected each semester to participate in a three to four month long, full-time internship (Fall, Sept-Dec; Winter/Spring, Jan-May; Summer, June-Aug) Internships may be available in advertising, development, education (local and national programs), National Symphony Orchestra, press relations, production, programming, technology, volunteer management, and finance. Interns receive a stipend of $225 per week to help defray housing and transportation costs. College credit may be available. Interns may attend performances, workshops, and classes presented by the Center, free of charge (space available), during their internship.

Opportunity: PR Internship
Information: Helene Davis Public Relations, a New York-based public relations firm specializing in promoting the Arts. Fall clients and efforts include New York City Center's Fall for Dance Festival and the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater's New York season, as well as the opening of a new off Broadway musical. The intern will assist with a variety of publicity activities and projects. Duties will include assistance with publicity efforts, interaction with press by phone and at dance vents, writing press releases, as well as general administration support. A stipend will be provided.
