We are looking to commission a Mobile for the Benjamin Branch Library.
Information
The library will serve as a community hub for adults and children. A strong emphasis will be placed on increasing the popular materials collection for adults and teens. Creating an exciting pre-literacy learning environment for young children and their caregivers is a priority of the children’s area. Middle-grade children through teenagers will find special new resources targeted to their interests.
Renovation objectives:
Maintain the spirit and integrity of the Lowenstein design.
Modernize and maximize the space for customer’s comfort in using the library
Create a learning environment for pre-school through middle grade children and teens

Requirements
North Carolina natives and artists connected to North Carolina who have experience and expertise with sculpture and mobiles.
Submissions Due: Images must be received by 5 pm, Tuesday, January 06, 2009.
The mobile should be of durable material, site specific, secure and requiring low maintenance.
A maximum of 10 images representative of your work.
Images may be sent on CD or online as jpeg file.
An image script that includes title, media, and dimensions.
A current resume, abbreviated to no more than two pages.
A self-addressed, stamped envelope if you wish your CD returned.
