Opportunity

The Open Studios Press sponsors 6 juried competitions per year. Winners receive full-color spreads in our nationally distributed periodical, New American Paintings.

Information

New American Paintings Competitions are conducted annually in each of six regions of the country. Competitions lead to publication in the bimonthly journal, New American Paintings, which, juried by curators from prominent museums, has extended the reach of artists and expanded the resources of collectors since 1993. Our competitions are open to all artists working within the United States. All styles and media are welcome, as long as the work is singular and two-dimensional.

Requirements

Postmark deadline: Friday, November 7, 2008
Submission Checklist:

* 4 images (35mm slides OR prints (no larger than 8.5″ x 11″, any kind of paper; no discs please)
All styles: painting, drawing, monoprints/types, mixed media; 2-D only, resume (please also include name, address, telephone number, email), entry fee $35, self-addressed, stamped envelope (for notification and/or large enough in which to also return
your materials)
