Call for Artists: The Art of Science/The Science of Art

The Mary Condon Hodgson Art Gallery at Frederick Community College would like to invite art professionals and emerging artists to submit work of all media for a juried exhibition, The Art of Science/The Science of Art.
Following the preliminary selection, artists will be interviewed by scientists from the National Institutes of Health, and then paired with a scientist to begin work on a collaborative art project. This collaborative project may take up to one year to complete.

CRITICAL DATES
· Application Deadline: February 2, 2009
· Acceptance Notification: February 23 – 27, 2009
· Art Delivered to Gallery: March 29 – 31 & April 1, 2010; 9:30am – 3:30pm & 6pm – 9pm
· Exhibition Opening: April 3, 2010; 5pm – 7pm (exhibit continues through April 30, 2010)
Requirements
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES/CRITERIA
· Artists living in the Mid-Atlantic region
· Resume
· 10 digital images preferred of artist’s work (CD/DVD and Slides accepted)
· A Written Narrative: Please describe your interest in the theme of the exhibition, including your views on what art and science have in common, and how artists and scientists could collaborate in creating a work of art.
