Call for Entries for Plugged Art Collective’s touring video festival
August 21st, 2009Opportunity
Plugged Art Collective announces a call for videos for our new 2010-2011 touring video festival Hot Sauce and Magnolias: A Southern Experience. This festival is open to all artists living and working in the Southeast. Free to apply. Videos under 5mins.
Information
Artists living in the American South share a particular voice that draws from a combination of unique influences and contradictions. A recipe thick as the woods, heat, and accents combined with history, tradition, and modern technology, creates a story that reflects a culture that is rarely captured. Plugged Art Collective invites all artists living and working in the American South to share their artworks, observations, and experiences.
Plugged Art Collective would like to include accepted videos in the online archive on Plugged’s website. The online archive supports Plugged’s mission to make relevant artwork more accessible to the public. In addition the online library will act as host for a global community of artists. Ideally this platform will act as a meeting point for living artists to meet each other’s work and spawn further creativity.
