Information
This exhibition is comprised of three components (or rings) assembled together to present contemporary popular culture as well as art influenced by the current presidential election and art reflecting more generally on American politics of the past few decades.
Ring 2: Florida Weighs In
Contemporary Artists from the southeast region responding to the 2008 Presidential campaigns will be selected from this open call to artists. Artists may submit existing works or propose to create a work or installation (including performance) for the exhibition. ALL MEDIA
Deadline for submitting materials electronically: June 24, 2008
Opens: September 5, 2008 and runs through early November, 2008
Fee: no fee for submitting work for consideration.
Selected artists making an installation will be awarded an honorarium of up to $500.00 to use to defray costs of making and installing work. Selected artists shipping work will be awarded up to $75.00 to defray costs of shipping and return of work. (Note: artists are responsible for all costs incurred in making work, travel, shipping work and return of work although the gallery will assist with those expenses up to the amounts noted above).
Exhibition will be supported by an opening, advertising, exhibition announcement and affiliated symposium.

Requirements
1 page resume (.doc) that includes phone/address/e-mail
1 page description of submitted work or proposal
3-5 support images or images of existing work (each as a .jpeg that is 500KB
or less)
(note: you may also submit the materials as one .pdf file or one powerpoint
file)
