Information
Grants will be awarded for travel between the dates of 5/22/10 and 8/26/11
One unique thing about this scholarship is that the does not need to be tied to a program — preference is given to students who have some place in mind to visit that applies to his/her work/research.
Requirements
Each department may recommend 5-6 candidates for these awards.
Recipients of the Dean’s International Study Grants must be:
1. Declared VCU Arts majors enrolled full-time and considered continuing students at the time of travel and travel reimbursement
2. RISING Juniors or RISING Seniors
3. Have a cumulative VCU GPA of 3.0 and 3.50 in their majors.
4. Travel between the dates of 5/22/10 and 8/26/11
The following materials are necessry for consideration and must be forwarded by the department to the Dean’s Office:
1. Recommendation letter from department.
2. Statement of purpose by the student (with student ID #) outlining plans and goals for travel.
3. Current transcript with major GPA figured.
All application packets containing the information as described above must be delivered by the department, not the student, to the Dean’s office by January 29, 2010. No other supplemental materials may be considered. Student must supply Christina Lindholm with a synopsis of the trip, complete with photos, upon return.
