The focus of Fall 2008 Gallery Internships will be:
- Administrative support
- Exhibition curation, installation and de-installation
- Gallery openings and receptions
- Gallery press and marketing
- Gallery presentation and maintenance
Administrative Support
Interns will assist in registrar activities including the handling, organizing, and storing of
artwork and files. Interns will maintain gallery inventory, organize artist’s information,
help with web-site maintenance, answer phones, and check mail.
Exhibition Curating, Installation and De-installation
Interns will assist in gallery preparations for installations, including preparing price lists,
and completing mailers.
Gallery Openings and Receptions
Interns will be required to attend events on evening and weekend hours, assisting in
openings and other receptions
Gallery Press and Marketing
Interns will be assist in creating and compiling information for press packets and help
with data mining for additions to client base.
Gallery Presentation and Maintenance
Interns will help create a hospitable environment for guests; organizing and cleaning all
visible areas of the gallery (this may include sweeping entryway and taking out trash)
Interns will also assist in special projects such as painting and wall preparation.
Information
The Page Bond Gallery, first established in 1999 as the New Gallery in Nantucket,
Massachusetts, relocated to Richmond, Virginia in 2001. Featuring contemporary art in
a wide variety of media and disciplines including painting, printmaking, photography,
sculpture, and ceramics, the gallery acts as a showcase for the work of emerging as
well as established artists with local, national, and international reputations.
The Page Bond Gallery assists clients with all of the related issues surrounding the
purchase and exhibition of works of art. These include all aspects of collection
management, conservation, installation, framing, insurance, and security.
The gallery mission is to maintain the highest level of professionalism and accessibility
while offering individual attention for both buyer and artist.
