Information
ArtPrize is a platform for creation, an event that you can take into your own hands, located in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
We can all agree that art is important. It’s only with questions about “which art?” or “why?” that we start to disagree. ArtPrize is an event where, for two weeks, everyone can find a way to put the fundamental belief that art is important into action.
The vote is not a way to discover the “best” art. It is the action to get everyone talking about art.
The prize is not a reward for the most important achievement. It is the world’s largest excuse to get creative and try something new.
For two weeks, a giant community forms around a grand and common project based on the belief that art is important. We believe that is worth far more than the prize money.
Requirements
Registration ends at 5:00 pm EDT, Thursday, May 27, 2010
$50 non-refundable entry fee
Artists Eligibility:- You are 18 years of age
- You must show your entry at an ArtPrize registered venue
- Your work does not infringe on third party rights
- Submitted work is wholly owned by the artist or collaborative
- Traveling to Grand Rapids is not required, a venue may be able to install your work
Rules and Details
You complete a Hosting Agreement with a venue.
- You may submit only one entry (an entry may contain multiple pieces, but will be voted on as a single unit)
- Entries must have been completed within the last three years
- Artists must pay a $50 registration fee (non-refundable)
- Collaborators can only be attached to one entry
- Collaborators pay $25 registration fee (non-refundable)
- You are responsible for transportation and removal of work from the venue
- You may sell your work, but it must remain in the ArtPrize exhibition until October 10, 2010
- ArtPrize is not involved in selling the work
- You grant ArtPrize permission to use images of your entry
- ArtPrize is not responsible for damages to wor
