SEEKING VOLUNTEERS FOR ART EXHIBITION IN DOWNTOWN RICHMOND
August 30th, 2010Opportunity
Clarke Art Consulting seeks volunteers for the Minority Art Exhibition (MAE). Volunteers are an invaluable part of MAE. We are looking for students with a fine art or art history background interested in event planning, artist relations, art administration, art installation and de-installation, and conducting gallery tours.
Information
MAE is an exploration and celebration of the vitality of contemporary art created by African American and Latin American artists. The mission is to engage viewers, promote cross-cultural dialogue, and cultivate a community of art enthusiasts. Along with providing exceptional works of art, MAE raises funds to support a local non-profit organization.
MAE will feature a broad survey of visual art addressing a range of themes and issues, musical and spoken-word performances, and series of artist talks, forums, and classes structured for artists, art buyers, and the general public to gain a deeper appreciation art and clarify values in promoting and supporting such artists. MAE kickoffs with a group show at Metro Space Gallery starting September 30 through October 3; followed by a second show featuring a new collaborative art installation, opening October 8 at Whitley Gallery.
Additionally, we are honored to partner with ART 180, this year. ART 180 creates and provides art-related programs for people in the Richmond area, living in challenging circumstances, encouraging personal community change through self-expression. A percentage of the event proceeds will go to ART 180.
If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, please send an email to info@clarkeartconsulting.com. Include your full name and contact information.
