Opportunity

The goal is to give students an opportunity to present works or works-in-progress with feedback sessions designed to encourage dialogue and further investigation of creative ideas.

Information

In response to VCU Arts’ interest in providing students with opportunities to connect across disciplines, VCU Dance has opened the Salon, to students throughout the school.
The Salon is a NO TECH event (no lights, no sets) with one dress rehearsal required of all participants. It is open to the public and includes discussion about the works presented. Screening of short film or video work is possible.
TIME: Tuesday, October 14 at 8:00PM
PLACE: VCU Dance Center

DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION OF WORK FORM: TUESDAY, OCTOBER 7

SALON: TUESDAY OCTOBER 7, 4:30 PM—NO EXCEPTIONS!
Works may not exceed 10 minutes; shorter works are encouraged.
Works are accepted in order of receipt.

or by email to lemarshall@vcu.edu
You must be able to attend all of the following meetings/rehearsals:
Tues. Oct. 7- Return complete forms to Lea Marshall’s mailbox in Dance Office, 1315 Floyd Avenue
NO LATER THAN 4:30 PM! Forms may also be emailed to lemarshall@vcu.edu. Same deadline. Last day to sign up for Salon. Choreographer Information Sheet due.
Fri, October 10- Location and time: Studio 203, 11:45 am Event: Production Meeting
Mon, Oct 13- Location and time: Dance Center 5:30 pm Cast and crew call, 7:00 pm Run through Event: Run through and Crew training (All performers, and elements in the work to be presented must participate in the run through or the work will be eliminated from the production)
Tues, Oct 14- Location and time:Dance Center, 6:30 PM Cast and Crew Call, 8:00 PM Curtain Event: Salon
